| Group Ciprotur , a Azorean Hotel chain, was founded in 1992 with the opening of the first property named Hotel Ponta Delgada by the couple D. Constantina Soares and Engineer Feliciano Soares the current administrators of the Group. In 2001 they inaugurated their second hotel, the Hotel do Mar, and so the concept of a group was born
In 2004 Hotel 5 was added to the portfollio of this growing group and renamed to Hotel Colombo.
The Antillia Hotel Apartamento, open to the public since August of 2006 completes the universe of hotels operating under the brand of Group Ciprotur.
Three of the Group’s hotels are located in the island of São Miguel and one in the island of Santa Maria.
In the island of São Miguel both Hotel Ponta Delgada and Antillia Hotel Apartment are situated in noble areas in the city of Ponta Delgada. Also in the island of São Miguel, Hotel do Mar is located by the seaside in the town of Vila da Povoação. This parish holds the biggest number of touristic attractions in the Azores.
In the island of Santa Maria, Hotel Colombo is the most recent hotel in the island and is strategically situated at the entrance of the main town Vila do Porto. The hotel offers ample, modern and very comfortable facilities and is the right choice for those who wish to visit and enjoy the so called Azorean Ilha do Sol (Azorean Island of Sun).
